Start-ups and grants

Innovation projects, start-up initiatives, and grant opportunities linked to research and development.

1) Innovation project

Title: “Research on the optical and electrophysical properties of nanoscale films based on silicide metals and semiconductor compounds used in energy-saving technologies”

Date: August 10, 2024

Project leader: Normuradov Muradulla, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor

Scientific field: Mathematics, physics, and mechanics

Summary: The project is aimed at studying transition metals formed on the surface of silicon single crystals, their silicides, and nanoscale thin films. The main focus is on creating materials with unique properties for solid-state electronics and developing new devices based on thin films obtained through ion-plasma methods.

Implementing institution: Karshi State University

Project value: 1,936,350,000 UZS.

2) Applied project

Title: “Development of technology for cultivating edible and medicinal mushrooms widespread in Kashkadarya region in artificial nutrient media”

Date: August 10, 2024

Project leader: Assoc. Prof. Sherqulova Jamila Payanovna

Scientific field: Biotechnology and mycology

Summary: The project focuses on developing a scientifically grounded local technology for cultivating edible and medicinal fungi. It emphasizes the growing need for quality food and natural remedies, the limited planned mycological research in Kashkadarya, and the need to create a pure culture collection and achieve high yields using low-cost substrates.

Implementing institution: Karshi State University

Project value: 981,920,000 UZS.

3) Startup project

Title: “Clean Water”

Date: August 10, 2024

Project leader: Shamsiddinova Shahrizoda Baxtiyor qizi

Summary: The project is aimed at biologically purifying water with the help of algae. It is designed to clean wastewater from organo-minerals, heavy metals, cyanides, petroleum products, and pathogenic microorganisms, while also generating useful resources for agriculture, fisheries, poultry farming, and livestock production.

Partner institution: Karshi State University

Project value: 177,410,000 UZS.

4) International project

Title: “Access Microscholarship Program”

Date: August 10, 2024

Project leader: Musayeva Dilso‘z Tuychiyevna, PhD

Summary: The project is implemented under the leadership of American Councils with financial support from the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan. It is aimed at improving English language proficiency among schoolchildren in Karshi city from low-income and socially vulnerable families. The costs of textbooks and educational materials are covered through project funds.

Partner institution: Karshi State University

Project value: 64,000 USD.
