Sustainability work is coordinated by the Department of International Rankings and Sustainable Development, with monitoring through a cross-functional council involving faculties, student organizations, and administrative units.

Energy and climate

  • LED lighting has been implemented across university buildings, saving approximately 100,000 kWh of electricity annually.
  • Solar panels are installed on 17 buildings, with total solar capacity of about 1,545 kW.
  • From May 2025 to April 2026, total electricity consumption was 2,630,342 kWh, while solar panels generated 1,909,436 kWh.
  • Clean solar energy covered 72.5% of total electricity consumption.
  • A real-time energy monitoring system tracks generation, consumption, and electricity exported to the national grid.

Waste, water, and transportation

Waste Paper and plastic waste totaled 65.1 tons: 40.3 tons of paper and 24.8 tons of plastic.
Organic waste Organic waste decreased to 216.0 tons, with food waste reduced to 198.5 tons.
Inorganic waste Inorganic non-toxic waste decreased from 245.7 tons to 216.1 tons.
Toxic waste Toxic waste decreased from 1.1 tons to 1.0 ton and was handled through authorized treatment processes.
Water The campus uses 15 artesian wells and 23 reservoirs; the OSMOS system purifies and recycles 300 m3 of water per hour.
Transportation Private diesel and gasoline vehicles are restricted inside campus; mobility is supported by two 10-seat electric golf shuttles, 7 electric motorcycles, and bicycle paths.

Education, research, and digital governance

  • 169 courses embed sustainability topics such as ecology, renewable energy, biotechnology, environmental protection, and social responsibility.
  • The university offered 841 courses in 2025, following 873 courses in 2023 and 846 courses in 2024.
  • Average annual sustainability-related research funding for 2023-2025 was approximately UZS 2,077,618,267.
  • In 2024, the university recorded 745 Google Scholar publications and 267 Scopus-indexed publications.
  • HEMIS, Moodle, My Qarshidu, E-Xat, and Edu-ijro support education, document circulation, monitoring, student services, and sustainability governance.
